  • Winamp crashes with Ryzen CPU

I have a new laptop with the following stuff:
AMD Ruzen 5 5500 with Radoen Graphics 2.10
    8GB ram
    64 Gb Windows 11 Home 21H2 OS build 22000 434
HP 17 inch laptop with full HD 1080 vertical resolution.

The problem is that it crashes when the Modern Skin is selected.
However curiously it doesn't crash when my modified skin based on the Modern skin is selected!

I have tried 2 recent versions of Winamp and currently at 5.8.

So is there a fix? I have seen a number of posts that some games crash with Win 11-Ryzen, but nothing definite. Have others seen similar problems?

I can only attest that I had zero problems with Wnamp when using AMD Ryzen 5 3500X, Ryzen 5 5600X and AMD Ryzen 7 5800X with Windows 10

Might be a graphics driver issue. Try uninstalling the graphics driver & install a more stable version from the amd radeon website. usually they list a couple of version. Use the one that works best for you.

U can also try running windows update to update system drivers. Usually WU updates the system with ms certified stable drivers that usually fix most of the issues

May or may not attempt to push WACUP to you, totally not, no. Why would I even?
And may or may not also have told you so...

As far as driver and compatibility support is concerned, Windows 11 is still in its infancy, so it's expected that you'll stumble upon some issues with certain programs. If the problem only recently reared its head. You could try a system restore, otherwise, I'd suggest running DISM.
