Winamp restarts every time I switch displays

I have my laptop hooked up to an HDMI cable that I use all the time to play stuff downloaded onto my laptop on my television. Been doing this for years and years.


Just got a new laptop this year, Win11, and Winamp shuts down and restarts every single time I switch the display from the laptop to the TV. It never ever did this before so I guess it's a Win 11 thing but it's really annoying.


Anyone else experience anything like it? Or know how to make it stop happening? It does always restart (I have the plugin for that) but it's still really annoying because it's my main music player so I switch to the TV for whatever reason and poof! music stops then restarts again...

try 5.666 and see how it goes, 5.8 is a leaked and incomplete beta that no one should use, etc etc.

I've been using 5.8 for years now. I thought Dr. O endorsed it? The reason I prefer it is it has the search in the play list, which I use all the time. Far as I know, 5.666 doesn't have that


And it's not Winamp per se, it's my new laptop running Windows 11 because 5.8 worked perfectly with Win 7. I was hoping someone would know why Win 11 does this.

you could copy the skins that have the search bar, install 5.666 and replace the skins with the 5.8 copies, as an idea

So no one knows why it does this? Every time I switch from laptop to TV, it restarts and starts over where it last restarted. It's frustrating for sure.

try a clean install of Winamp 5.9
