591 Playlist Loading Issue

    591 Playlist Loading Issue

    Hello, this is for the latest Winamp '5.9.1 Build 10021' running on Windows 10.

    For whatever reason, playlists that worked fine (and were created in) the previous 'Winamp 5.9.0 Build 9999' no longer load properly... and when trying to play anything the playlist reloads things as simply a blank line labeled "C:\" but when checking the Audio Library everything searches and plays normally no issue.

    After some digging I discovered the problem was that the M3U files were created ever so slightly different. And also I made a new M3U playlist to check myself.

    What previously would have been

    \_DARKFOX\MUSIC\Marvel MCU\Ant Man and the Wasp Quantumania - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.mp3
    #EXTINF:197,Moon Knight; Marvel; Engelbert Humperdinck - A Man Without Love

    while in the newly created playlist file, is now written with the C: at the beginning

    C:\_DARKFOX\MUSIC\Marvel MCU\Ant Man and the Wasp Quantumania - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.mp3
    #EXTINF:197,Moon Knight; Marvel; Engelbert Humperdinck - A Man Without Love

    Editing and resaving the old playlist, manually adding the C: in front of every line fixes the issue... but surely there is a better solution? Some playlists with 100+ songs would be exhausting to have to edit every single thing... or rebuild every playlist again from scratch.

    Hello.

    This is hopefully fixed in RC2 (build 10023).

    Please confirm.

      As far as I can tell, the issue with "C:\" for playlist loading still seems to continue. I tried removing all playlists and re-importing them, but it still occurs.

      Also Winamp seems to hang and crash occasionally when clicking in the playlist too often.

        how big are your playlists? how many entries?

          Hmm, did you delete winamp.m3u and winamp.m3u8 from the Winamp Settings folder first?

          Or are you talking about Media Library playlists here?

          Did you make backups of everything before installing RC1?

            I was referring to the Media Library playlists.

            I always export all of my playlists to a separate folder, so I can re-import them if they get lost.

            I discovered something else odd... some playlists actually were loading fine and some were not, I found this by checking the *.m3u playlist files in Notepad++

            This never occurred in 590 but after 591 it is only loading ones with the full path written.

            1) m3u playlist that does NOT load, the "C:" is not written at the front

            2) m3u playlist that DOES load, has the full "C:\" written in the line

            3) just to show the 'hang and crash' dialogue that occasional happens after clicking around in the Media Library area

            Hopefully this makes the issue more clear, sorry for the confusion!

              Most of playlists are fairly reasonable lengths, but there are a handful that have 200-300 ish songs total, that would be a hassle to manually fix

                    This now works properly thank you! I did have to delete all my playlists from Winamp and then re-import them. After re-importing them, the playlists loaded and now play properly
