Music will no longer play from folders

When I click on an mp3 file in my music folders, the song will show up in winamp but it will longer start playing. I want it to play automatically, like it used to. I have windows 11 on a Lenovo laptop. Thanks!

All set. All I did was uninstall that version and installed an older one.

Of course the older one is still useful.
Everything is not working in the newer one.

At a guess, it was caused by the erroneous "URL: Winamp Command Handler" association, fixed in the 5.9.1c Update Patch

Or maybe you had "Play in Winamp" set as the default action before,
but now it's set to "Enqueue in Winamp" via Winamp => Prefs => File Types: Enqueue files on dbl click?

Or maybe you had Enqueue+Play set as the default action before?
If yes, then you'll need to make sure the JTFE plugin (which was included in Winamp 5.04 to 5.666) is still installed.
