  • play if playist=1, enqueue if playlist>1

    this has bugged me for ages:

    --> (1) when you set the default action to "play", the file will play immediately, but deletes the current playlist. I can't count how many times I have accidentally deleted a playlist which I had been creating for half an hour ...

    --> (2) when you set the default action to "enqueue", you don't risk accidentally deleting your playlist, but it's very annoying whenever you DON'T create playlists, because you always have to open the playlist window, delete the currently played song and advance to the enqueued song. I promise you, try this a couple of minutes, and you will give up ... it's too annoying.

    --> (3) when you set the default action to "enqueue & play", you don't risk accidentally deleting your playlist AND you have your song play immediately without the extra work in (2), but you still have a useless playlist in the playlist window which you have to delete once in a while.

    --> SUGGESTION/SOLUTION:

    Add a feature "intelligent default action behaviour":

    if only 1 song in playlist use "play" as default action.
    if > 1 song in playlist use this default action: (..) enqueue (x) enqueue & play
    this combines all advantages of scenarios 1-3 above while avoiding their disadvantages ... the best of both worlds

    PS: how can I add a poll?

    have noted it as something like that might best be done via the jtfe plug-in so the enq+play handling could be covered by it. that doesn't guarantee i (or anyone else) will ever look to implementing it though.

    you cannot add a poll once you've posted the thread (that i remember), it's only there when you make the thread and polls don't achieve much anyway

      thanks for your reply.
      there were no poll options while creating OP. I looked everywhere.
      But there are other threads with polls in the wishlist subforum, so somehow it must be possible.
