  • Desperately need a plugin

I desperately...DESPERATELY need a plugin to disable/delete or preferably REMOVE/KILL the "Crop" option in the Playlist Editor!!!

Tonight, I probably spent 3-5 HOURS going through a list of over 8,000 items, queueing songs I haven't heard in (in some cases) YEARS, and carefully sifting the others off to the top portion of my playlist (Above and away from my queue, you understand....) And then BAM!!! my finders slipped across the Shift-Delete combination, and it was ALL GONE!!!

And as if that wasn't enough, my wireless mouse has a habit of drifting. As I carefully hold the thing still, the cursor slides gleefully up or down the screen anyway, until I wiggle the thing just right to stop it. And if I'm trying to drag something...well, you get the idea. Now that's bad enough...but tonight, after I got through screaming and throwing monitors through windows--no, seriously! Or...virtually, anyway...I have a game on this comp where you actually go smash stuff.... Anyway, I was trying again. Not sure what a certain song was, or whether I wanted to add to my queue, I pulled up the menu. I drew the cursor up to "View file info", and the mouse gleefully slid UP...to "CROP FILES!" I mean, IT HAPPENED AGAIN!!!

ALL OF MY WORK! INSTANTLY GONE!!!

I CANNOT USE THIS PROGRAM in it's full capacity, when I sit at any moment no more than a keyclick or a mouse-slip away from disaster!

I know this is a popular and necessary feature of the vanilla program, but I've got to have a way to disable it as an option! The same function can be achieved through other means....simply make a selection, click "Invert Selection", and then...hit the "Delete" key. So, I need a plug-in that will (1) remove/disable the "Shift-Delete" hotkey combo, (2) remove/disable the "Crop Files" menu item, and (3) remove the "Crop Files" and "Remove All" buttons from the "Remove" popup at the bottom of he Playlist Editor. (Yes, "Remove All" is also a problem, and it, too, exists as another option: "New Playlist" on the "Playlist" popup...)

Also, I've tried using DrO's "Playlist Undo" for this...but that plugin does NOT preserve the Queue in any way. Therefore, I'm unable to rely on the Wianmp Queue in any way. As a result, I simply cannot listen to my songs while also selecting songs to listen to. I am forced to select "Send to" and add them to a saved playlist, when I really don't want a permanent copy of a temporary queue after all.

    Please help....somebody, please help.

    Thank you.....

http://nunzioweb.com/daz/cropdie.html will remove the crop action (only in the main playlist editor). for the other parts, i've not made anything to do it since even with a dodgy mouse, it's still 2 clicks on a specific place which need to be done. maybe i should add in tracking of the jtfe playback queue in the playlist undo plug-in (as the queue will remove anything which no longer exists, or add an option to not instantly remove items from the queue which go away as / when i'm back working on that plug-in i.e. when i've got the freetime / inclination).

      Wow!

Wow, DrO, that just saved my A--erm, my sorry Keister! You guys are QUICK!! (Or, was that soething you already had whipped up?) Whaterver, thank you, thank you,

      THANK YOU!!!!!!

I have now downloaded it, and I'm installing it on every computer I own! (Which is quite a few, actually....)

It would be good to have the queue respect Winamp Undo...and/or, Winamp Undo restore the queue. But at least, not having a "Kill" switch next to my cursor means I can set up a queue again without loosing all my work.

      Thanks again, guy....

      YOU ROCK!!!

cropdie is a plug-in from 2004 if i remember correctly.

as for the queue thing, i've a made a note so will see what / if happens over time for getting that able to be saved or at least not cleared out instantly as currently happens on a playlist change.
