What it says on the tin. Any service that you can use in a browser would then be compatible with Winamp.

The browser should be stripped from Winamp, and then become a 3rd party plugin that can do as u say, route audio from web sources thru Winamp.PENN STATE Radio or http://www.LION-Radio.org/

As long as it remains an included optional component, sure. As in, if you hit "full install", it's installed, however, you can do minimal or custom install and de-select it.
Having it be a plugin that you have to hunt down would be a bit much, IMHO.
