  • Safety net for active playlists

I've been using Winamp to broadcast for over 15 years, with shoutcast, edcast and altacast.

By far, the one change I want most to see is this:

Have a preference option to pop up a warning whenever the user's action would have the effect of wiping out the current playlist. I have wasted so much time, and lost so much work this way. I know there are ways to be careful, etc., but a safety net would seem a natural part of this kind of software, no?

Please also try to make it so the "Jump to File" plugin will still work with future versions.

    Thanks

Give this plug-in a try (https://winampplugins.co.uk/plu.html). It doesn't provide a warning when the playlist is changed, but it does let you recover from accidental changes.

      Thanks for the link.

I've used that plug-in before. After using it for a while, it caused strange issues for me because of the undo cue. Believe it or not, it started deleting files not only from the playlist but from the hard drive as well. I tested this with trial and error, and the issue stopped when I removed the plug-in.

I've never had the playlist undo plug-in delete any files from my hard drives. Were you using the current version or an older one?

thats a good idea. i would also suggest that the history section track the playlists.

i don't use them much myself, but both ideas i think are seemingly easily within reach.
