  • Install 3.0

With Win98SE I try to install the latest Winamp. But when the whole procedure is finished -I've also rebooted the system- I can't start the program. Error message: This program (Studio)has made... bla bla...contact your dealer (see also attached file).
The 2.8 version is still on this system, but after i deinstalled it, the problem was still there.
After installation it wasn't possible to contact the upgrade webpage but the installprog said everything is ok.
What goes wrong, who has an idea?

    ******/

winamp2 and 3 should work fine simultaneously provided they are in different directories

    1. Winamp3 is NOT an upgrade to winamp2.... therefore you can not install over it or it won't work

    2. Winamp3 can not be installed over an old beta or it won't work due to code changes.

    uninstall winamp3....delete your installation folder

    and re-install

What's the full details of the error message?
Where's this "attached file" of yours?
What's the rest of your sys specs? (cpu, ram, mobo, sound, video, directx)
What other programs/processes are running at the time? (systray/taskman)
Have you tried running Anti-Virus, ScanDisk (thorough scan), defrag, etc?

What do you want me to do with these? "Have you tried running Anti-Virus, ScanDisk (thorough scan), defrag, etc?" Some of them are running on the background and I'm not doing a virusscan during Winamp installation.
Unfortunately i can not put an attached file in this. It was a screendump from the errormessage u have now.
I hope you can use this info.
