this is a lil somethin i worked up last night. doesnt do too much right now, but i think its a good start!

the server starts on port 8080.

currently, there is no config for it, but i will work on that soon.

let me know what ya think, or if there are any problems with it.

currently, the search page and options page dont work correctly.

Awesome man, I'm expecting early 2003 you're going to have input for winamp that lets me do hand motions in front of a camera to make winamp work? (Sort of like http://optimoz.mozdev.org/gestures/index.html I suppose) Anyway, that's good stuff, pretty small too, not that it takes more than a second to download anyway...

Cool, it seems to work pretty well. Add authentication (I'm sure you will), and if we could have multiple users levels, that'd be cool too!

I was away for a while.
But I'm feeling much better now.

[15:42:18] <JBDude> once you download it rename all the .* template files to .* html and it'll open in IE
[15:42:40] <JBDude> that's all I can think of do make it work ..unless I'm doing it all wrong ..and that's always a possibility

no no no NO!! do NOT rename the template files.

if you try to load somethin like index.html and there is a index.html.template, itll auto-generate a new index.html with things such as playlist items.

if you take a look at the templates, u will notice things such as:
              %p
these will be filled in by the server with data from Winamp. here is the current list: (note: they must be lower case, because uper-case is going to be something else later)

              %p = playlist
              %l = playlist list
              %t = status
              %n = playlist name
              %s = search

              search currently doesnt work yet.

to modify the way the page looks, simply modify the .html.template file. you can also create your own .html.template files with any filename you wish.

when the server atempts to load a HTML file, itll first look for "file.html.template", so if you want somethin like "stuff.html" to be auto-generated, simply make a "stuff.html.template" and inside the template, you can place the various %X things there (listed above)

i will write up a full doc on how to create templates a little bit later.

the reason I renamed them was so I could see what I had in IE ... I didn't really know what I had until I could think of some way to see da innerdz ...but anyway ..thanks guys

heh, dun worry bout it. i needed to make some sort of minor documentation in this thread anyways for peoples to read. i was just too damn lazy to do that before.

                      Wasabi Webserver

I tried adding the webserver as active desktop content ON my desktop using http://localhost:8080 ..it worked but when I clicked a song to play the Song Playing info wasn't updating right and IE popped up another webserver window..

Is this a bug to be fixed or something to do with how XP Home handles active desktop content ??

                      My Comp:
                      1.4 Ghz Celeron
                      256meg DDR SDRAM
                      XP Home

Hope this is what you need to figure this out

just as soon as the linux version is finalized and released... there WILL be the wasabi OS. a bunch of us are just waiting on stand-by to make such a thing a reality.

i sure hope someone is still working on that toaster component.. i wanna have a serial port toaster that winamp controlls!!

or how about this? washers and driers are starting to include NICs in them, and they include DHCP support, so u could monitor them from a PC. how about a component that could CONTROL them from within Winamp ??? hahaha, best ever, no?

<smartass>Yes, that's apache, thanks.</smartass> This is a web server run on wasabi from winamp3 itself, designed as a remote access, and in 20k or so, I'm confused as to why you're posting a full scale httpd.
