  • Winamp stoped playing shoutcast... HELP!

    I used to never have a problem listening to any shoutcast station. Then one day last week I uninstalled and then re-installed winamp, and NOW, whenever I click on a shoutcast station, a quick window opens (initiating the stream, I assume), winamp OPENS, but then does nothing! Is there something I am missing? I have re-installed winamp several times, just to be sure, but to no avail.

    It is very frustrating, because I LOVED shoutcast feature and now it is gone!

    I wish I had more details, but sadly, it is as simple as that: I click on stream, winamp opens, then PLOP. winamp just sits there staring at me.

    HALP!

    In Winamp...
    Ctrl+P > Setup > checkmark the appropriate internet connection
    Also, just to be sure
    Ctrl+P > Setup > File types > select/highlight pls and m3u > checkmark "Register types on Winamp start" > close & restart Winamp

        Sorry, I thought that I was in the Winamp 2 forum.

        In Winamp...
        Ctrl+P > Internet > select the appropriate internet connection
        Also, just to be sure
        Ctrl+P > System > Media > select/highlight pls, m3u and b4s > checkmark "Register types on Winamp start" > close & restart Winamp

        Download and install the Winamp 3 update

        Still having troubles? Give us some more information.
        What is your Windows version, CPU/RAM and Soundcard
        Are you having problem with media files in Winamp (MP3s, WAVes or MIDIs)?

          hrm ok so heres a little more info...

          like I said, I click on the shoutcast and winamp opens then does nothing.

          BUT when I do PLAY/LOCATION and paste the URL (in my case http://www.sleepbot.com/ambience/cgi...cgi/listen.pls)

          it works!

          ooo kay so based on that... why wont clicking on a shortcut work, but doing PLAY/LOCATION will?

            Ctrl+P > System > Playlist uncheck "Enqueue as default action"

              That didnt do it either.

              Here's the info: (ps: thank you VERY MUCH for trying to help and the quick response!)

              What is your Windows version: Windows XP Pro SP1
              CPU: AMD AthalonXP 1700
              RAM: 512MB
              Soundcard: SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio

              I am having no problems with media files in Winamp (MP3s, WAVes or MIDIs)

                Control Panel > Internet Options > General tab > Temp Internet Files > click the "Delete Files" button

                If you are using Netscape
                In Netscape > Edit > Preferences > Advance > Cache > "Clear Disk Cache" button
