  • Displaying Filename and not ID3 in display

    Hey gang, after searching the faq and the troubleshooting forums I still seem to be stuck.

    How the heck does one change what Winamp 3 displays in the playlist window? It temporarily displays the filename and then the id3 tags overwrite the filename. I would like to simply have it display the filename.

    I know how to change it in Winamp2.9, but can't seem to find how to do it in 3.0.

    Anyone?

    Thanks all!

    There will be no further public releases of Winamp3 at all (although Wasabi will continue to be developed). VERY SOON Winamp3 will no longer be available for download, and will no longer be supported. All Winamp3 forums will be gone (they may be archived for legacy support but for reference only and not posting). The entire site will be revamped, including these forums. Instead, all development has been and will continue to go into Winamp 5.0 (the direct upgrade from Winamp 2.x), available for download here > latest release candidate. In addition, Winamp 5 supports both Winamp 2.x skins and Winamp3 skins (now referred to as "modern" skins), along with many other great features that Winamp3 had.

    So, I suggest that you install and "test-drive" the latest release candidate of Winamp 5.0. It totally rocks.
    Or, just wait a little longer for the formal public release of Winamp 5.0. You'll know when it's ready by just checking the main page. At that time there will be no download offered for Winamp3 and it will have been replaced with Winamp 5.0 download. Just keep checking.

    *Note: If you decide to keep Winamp3 installed and you also want to install Winamp 5.0, make certain that you do not install Winamp 5.0 within your current Winamp3 directory. Winamp 5.0 is a direct upgrade from Winamp 2.xx and is a separate program requiring installation within its own folder (or within your existing Winamp 2.xx folder if you just want to upgrade).

    To avoid confusion, Winamp and Winamp3 are and always have been two different Nullsoft media players / products)...

    Winamp = Winamp 0.x | Winamp 1.x | Winamp 2.x | Winamp 5.x
    Winamp3 = Winamp3

    1. The name of one product is Winamp
    2. The name of the other product is Winamp3 (note that there is no "space" between Winamp and 3 and there is no mention of a version number)

    * In a nutshell... Winamp3 is dead and there will no longer be any support for Winamp3. Support for Winamp 2.x will also end. The entire site and these forums will change to discussion/support for Winamp 5.0

    But in answer to this question...

    Forget Winamp3. With Winamp 5.0, press CTRL+P to open Preferences, Titles > Advanced Title Formatting
    Don't email or PM me concerning Winamp. Instead, either start a NEW TOPIC or post a REPLY in the appropriate thread in these forums. This will also benefit others who may have a similar question or problem. But before posting, please first Search the forums and read all FAQs and all Sticky threads.
